10 K Plan

Here is my layout for the running plan that I will be using starting in a few weeks to train for the 10K. Up until then, I will just be running like usual. I will also be going over my training work runs each Tuesday. I am using those days to  increase endurance/speed. CT stands for cross training and I will be swimming or biking or strength training or some mix of those on Wednesdays. I will let you know my workout as the days approach.

Peanut's New Toys

Today, as everyday at 11, I was checking out the new sales on Hautelook and saw that there were raised pet feeders on sale. I have been thinking about buying Peanut one for awhile because she is so tall and bending down to eat can cause her to get bloat which is far more expensive to treat than the cost of a raised feeder (and possibly deadly) and I was able to pick up this feeder for her:

She has also been needing a new collar as her UGA one is getting worn out and starting to fall apart so I finally picked one of those up for her at PetSmart.

She got the top one in the image. Its perfect for her new spring look :). I am sad to see the UGA one go, but maybe she can get a new one for football season.

Peachtree Road Race

The Peachtree Road Race went to a lottery system this year. After running it for the first time last year, I was excited to run again, but I figured I would not get into the lottery. However, I found out yesterday that 

I WILL BE RUNNING THE PEACHTREE THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!

Now I have to start training. In order to keep my accountable, I plan to post on here my training plan once I draw it up and also give updates as I move along. 

My time last year was 1.06:39 which puts me in wave H by 2011 standards. Unfortunately, I previously was basing my time on 2010 standard which put me in the G wave, but I don't think it will matter that much.

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! In starting a blog (The Blissful Academic) a little over a month ago, I had no idea things were going to progress as they did. I have decided to make that blog a fashion blog, removing all the personal aspects of that blog. Instead, I have moved those things here. This will be my personal blog where I post updates of my life. There will be less structure here, but it will still be just as much fun and a great way for me to share with the people I don't get to see all the time.
